Phytochemical, Antioxidant and Antibacterial Screening of Orthosiphon stamineus Leaf Extract Two Phenotypes

Kumis kucing (Orthosiphon stamineus) is a medicinal plant that can treat various diseases. has been known to contain bioactive compounds, namely polyphenol, alkaloid, and terpenoid which have antioxidant, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic anti-cancer activities. This study aims determine the phytochemical content, antioxidant activity, antibacterial activity of cat's whiskers leaf extract. Kucing extract was obtained by sonication-maceration method. Antioxidant test kumis tested using CUPRAC ABTS methods. The results showed kucing’s contains compounds terpenoid. highest average produced purple phenotype cat method, 168.68 µg TE/g dry weight. in Escherichia coli strain from (U2) with an inhibition zone diameter 3.2 mm.
